Fairfield University’s MSW program ranked No. 2 in Connecticut

Fairfield University’s School of Education and Human Development’s Master of Social Work (MSW) program has been named among the top online social work programs in Connecticut, earning the No. 2 statewide ranking from MastersinSocialWorkOnline.org in its newly released 2026 report.

The program was recognized for its academic rigor, student support, expert faculty instruction, and strong leadership within the social work field. Evaluators also cited the program’s meaningful contributions to the advancement of clinical social work.

Connecticut continues to be one of the most attractive states for MSW-educated professionals, ranking as the second highest-paying state for social workers nationwide. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects social work employment to grow 6 percent nationwide by 2034.

Fairfield’s low-residency MSW program is designed to prepare students for clinical practice across diverse professional settings. Participants receive personalized support from nationally and internationally recognized faculty and enter the field equipped to serve as compassionate clinicians and leaders for social change. The program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
