Step into the spirit of the season at Mystic Seaport Museum’s Lantern Light Village

This December, Mystic Seaport Museum (75 Greenmanville Ave, Mystic, CT 06355) invites visitors to experience the magic of the holidays as its historic seaport village transforms into a twinkling, maritime-inspired winter wonderland for Lantern Light Village.

Running on select evenings December 5, 6, 12, 13, 18, 19, and 20, the event offers a self-guided, immersive holiday experience filled with festive lights, live entertainment, and heartwarming traditions that bring the spirit of the season to life.

Inspired by Charles Dickens’ classic tale A Christmas Carol, this year’s Lantern Light Village reimagines the story with a nautical twist. Guests will stroll through the beautifully decorated 19th-century village and encounter costumed performers—including the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future—along the way.

Families can enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides, holiday crafts, live music, and fireside cocoa, while children will have the chance to meet St. Nick and take part in hands-on seasonal activities. The event also features cozy spots for warming up, perfect for taking in the glow of thousands of lights across the museum’s historic waterfront.

“This is one of the most magical times of year to visit Mystic Seaport Museum,” the museum shared in its announcement. “Lantern Light Village captures the warmth, wonder, and nostalgia of the holidays.”

Event Details

Lantern Light Village runs 5:00–8:30 p.m. (until 9:00 p.m. on Saturdays) with staggered entry times every 15 minutes beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Tickets

Members: Adults $25–$30 | Youth (4–17) $17–$22
Non-members: Adults $35–$40 | Youth (4–17) $22–$28
Children under 3: Free

For the best value, guests are encouraged to visit on Fridays or Thursday, December 18. Special member pricing is available on opening night, Friday, December 5.

Advance ticket purchase is strongly recommended due to limited capacity.
