Hay and Axes and Looms, Oh My! Come explore our new, interactive exhibit, “Weston at Work”, in the historic Coley Barn. Learn about the history of agriculture, manufacturing, and textile production in Weston and Connecticut. Children can card wool, weave on a loom, use a rope and pulley to raise a hay bale and more! With hands-on activities, rare Bradley Axe tools, farming implements, a working loom and countless historic images, “Weston at Work” allows visitors of all ages to actively engage in learning. The exhibit highlights the many people, including immigrants, people of African descent, women, and children, who helped put Weston to work.

Take a guided tour of the award-winning Coley House and learn about life during the pivotal 1940s. No other historic house in Connecticut reflects the 1940s era! Experience how the Coley family would have lived, worked, and played on the home front during World War II. Children can play with 1940s toys and games, build with Lincoln Logs, type on an old typewriter, and dial a rotary phone.

Have fun tapping your toes in our pop-up exhibit, “May I Have This Dance?”, which features Ragtime dance music, dance manuals, sheet music, dance cards and more from the private collection of social dance historian, Susan de Guardiola.
