Fairfield Dolan’s Dean’s Executive Forum presents Jay McLaughlin ’70 on September 23

On Tuesday, September 23 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Fairfield University’s Charles F. Dolan School of Business will welcome Jay McLaughlin ’70, entrepreneur and co-founder of the iconic fashion brand, J. McLaughlin.

Mclaughlin will share how he built his brand, engage directly with student questions, and offer his perspective on the fashion industry in a dynamic, moderated conversation.

A member of the Class of 1970, McLaughlin began his career working in his father’s Brooklyn real estate business before he and his brother Kevin opened their first clothing store, Sea Island Clothiers, on Manhattan’s Upper East Side in 1977. In 1979, the brand was reimagined as J.McLaughlin, which has since grown into a nationally recognized American sportswear brand, with a catalog, a website, and more than 180 tastefully designed stores in downtown neighborhoods across the country — including nine stores in Connecticut.
