Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater New Haven receives Liberty Bank Foundation grant to expand academic support for youth

When community partners step up, big things happen for local youth. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater New Haven (BGCGNH) is proud to announce that it has received a generous grant from the Liberty Bank Foundation to support tutoring and academic enrichment programs at its New Haven Clubhouse. The funding will fuel Project Learn—a national evidence-based program that helps youth overcome barriers to academic success and reach their full potential.

“In communities like New Haven, where far too many students face systemic educational inequities, partnerships like this one make all the difference,” said Tameika G. Miller, CEO at BGCGNH. “Thanks to Liberty’s support, we can continue delivering programs that inspire and empower our youth.”

Project Learn, developed by Boys & Girls Clubs of America, blends tutoring, homework help, reading and writing enrichment, as well as cognitive skill-building to create holistic support systems for students. At BGCGNH, this program is further strengthened through the Club’s partnership with the New Haven Tutoring Initiative, offering personalized academic assistance that meets each student’s unique needs.
