Milford’s ‘Fair on the Half Shell’ returns Aug. 16 with vendors, music, and family fun

Fair on the Half Shell — formerly known as Oysterfest Fair — is happening Friday, August 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Milford Green in Milford, CT. This free, family-friendly event is proudly sponsored by Avangrid, whose support helps make this beloved community celebration bigger and bolder than ever.

Guests of all ages are invited to stroll through the beautiful streets of Downtown Milford, celebrating New England charm with a coastal flair. With over 25,000 attendees last year, it remains one of the largest and most cherished community events in Connecticut — a proud 50+ year tradition that honors Milford’s shoreline roots.

What to Expect

250+ vendors offering handmade goods, home décor, coastal-themed gifts, clothing, and local art
Family activities on the Green near the church — games, crafts, and interactive fun for kids
Interactive Art Exhibit Trailer at M&T Bank for hands-on creativity and exploration
Live music and performances for all ages, featuring upbeat local bands and community showcases

To create a safe and immersive experience, South Broad Street (from River to Green’s End) will be closed — opening up the heart of downtown for visitors to walk, shop, and celebrate together, transforming Milford into a vibrant, walkable festival that captures the true spirit of the shoreline.
