Local 9th grader publishes debut anthology “Forever Darkness; Twisted Horror Short Stories and Poems for Young Adults”
West Hartford resident Ma’ayan Harel-Sibelman, a 9th-grade student, has published her debut anthology “Forever Darkness; Twisted Horror Short Stories and Poems for Young Adults,” now available at Barnes & Noble.com, soon to be available on Etsy and TikTok shop. This remarkable achievement showcases the emerging literary talent of one of Connecticut’s youngest published authors.
This book is a hauntingly captivating collection of horror short stories and poems that delve into the darkest corners of the human psyche. From psychological terror that plays on your deepest fears to dystopian landscapes where survival is a struggle, each tale weaves a unique thread of suspense and dread. The supernatural lurks in every shadow, while other stories venture into realms of cosmic horror, existential dread, and twisted realities. Whether you’re drawn to the unsettling power of the mind or the eerie unknown, this anthology promises to take you on a spine-chilling journey into the realms of fear and imagination. Ma’ayan is already making waves in the literary community, having received recognition from both The Connecticut Writing Project and The Connecticut Scholastic Arts and Writing Awards competitions this year. Her accomplishment as a published novelist while still in high school demonstrates exceptional creativity, dedication, and literary skill.
“Writing has always been my passion,” says Ma’ayan. “I’m excited to share ‘Forever Darkness’ with readers and hope they enjoy the suspense and journey of the characters as much as I enjoyed creating them.”
The community will have several opportunities to meet the young author and have copies of “Forever Darkness” purchased and signed at upcoming events:
· May 18, 2024 – Book signing at Barnes & Noble in Farmington (1599 SE Rd, Farmington, CT 06032) from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
· June 8, 2024 – Author program at Simsbury Free Library from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, featuring readings, discussion of her writing process, Q&A, and book signing.
· June 21, 2024 – Book signing at Barnes & Noble in West Hartford’s Blue Back Square (60 Isham Rd, West Hartford, CT 06107) from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
The June 8th event at Simsbury Free Library will provide a unique opportunity to hear Ma’ayan read selections from her novel and learn about her writing journey. Attendees will have the chance to purchase signed copies following the presentation.
