You’ll have the chance to meet a new furry friend and snap some adorable photos to cherish the moment. These gentle goats are sure to bring a smile to your face as you enjoy their playful nature. Once your goat cuddle time is over, don’t forget to visit the Apple Barrel for a delightful shopping experience. It’s the perfect way to spend a day surrounded by nature, adorable animals, and delicious local produce!

Minors cannot make reservations to handle a goat alone, but can be added as an additional helper to assist an adult handler on the goat walk. There must be at least 1 adult person who will be the handler for each goat.

A gaming concierge walks you through several games over the course of the night. You play classics you love and discover brand new games you’ve never heard of, playing each with a different group of fun singles. Explore the menu and nosh on amazing selections of food and drink, from savory entrees to craft beers that pair perfectly with the fun. At the end of the night, you give your gaming concierge a list of the folks you met that you’d like to date and a list of those you met that you’d like to just hang out with as friends. If any two people put down the same name as each other in either column, then your gaming concierge will make sure you get each other’s e-mail address and you can coordinate a time to hang out.

Best case scenario: You find true love, discover some awesome board games, and make some new friends.

Bad case scenario: You accomplish only one of those three things, which is still pretty great.

Get lucky and meet your new best furry friend at this special adoption event at Lyman Orchards in Middlefield CT on Saturday March 15 from 12-2pm.

This is an outdoor event and will take place in the parking lot behind the Apple Barrel Farm Market. Swing by the Apple Barrel Farm Market for hot coffee, lunch specials, bakery treats and goodies (for purchase) before you head over to visit with the dogs! We will also be having our Lyman Leprechaun Bash all weekend long! Learn more about the event here.

Astronomy Night (free): Stargazing at Lyman Orchards

Head over to the driving range at Lyman Orchards Golf Course for a beautiful night full of stargazing with the Astronomy Society of New Haven. The event will take place on Saturday, March 15th from 6 pm- 9 pm.

During the event, you’ll be able to see the two biggest planets in our solar system and their largest moons, as well as galaxies, clusters, and nebulae. Blankets, chairs and red flashlights are recommended while enjoying the breathtaking astronomical views and educational experience. This event is free and open to the public.

Make it a night out starting off with dining at 1741 Pub & Grill, located at Lyman Orchards Golf Course before the event starts. View their menu: here . 1741 Pub & Grill will be open until 10pm serving food and drinks. Stargazing will be held right outside of the restaurant, on the golf course driving range.

The Astronomical Society of New Haven (ASNH) is a non-profit organization that participates in public outreach events throughout CT. These events are where club members operate their own telescopes, and binoculars and present various sky object such as planets, galaxies, star clusters and nebulae. Use them as a resource! Ask questions about the objects you see through the eyepiece. Learn more about The Astronomical Society of New Haven here.

Please note that no food and beverages are allowed around the equipment. Please keep the white light from smartphones and other electronic devices away from the scopes. Please point white flashlights at the ground, as it causes a loss of night vision.

Step into the shadowy world of 1940’s organized crime, where loyalty is everything and betrayal lurks in every corner. Immerse yourself in a night of intrigue, deception, and danger, where secrets are deadly, alliances are fragile, and every decision could change your fate. Choose your side wisely- trust no one, and remember: in this world, power is the ultimate currency.

The Scene:

Tensions are high as two rival mafia families, long at odds, are meeting under a fragile truce to negotiate peace and secure their future. But as the families gather to seal the deal, one ambitious member has other plans. When a sudden murder disrupts the night, the truce shatters, and suspicions run wild.

Was it a calculated act of betrayal? A warning from the opposing family? It’s up to you to piece together the clues, interrogate your fellow party goers, and uncover the truth. Someone in the room is guilty, was it you?!

Once tickets are purchased, each person in your group will be assigned a mafia family member persona for the event. Specific character details will be emailed to each person two weeks prior to the event date. Tickets purchased after that two week period will receive their character within 3 days. Please keep an eye on your email inbox as well as spam/junk folder. Please keep in mind that this is a role playing, interactive event. Costumes are encouraged; think sharp suits, fedoras, and vintage glamour.

Lyman Homestead Tours

A rare opportunity to see inside the historic 1864 Lyman Homestead and hear highlights from the family’s heritage on the land since 1741 will be offered by Lyman Orchards on Saturday, March 22nd.

Guided tours of several rooms of the Homestead will include a brief overview of eight generations of Lymans, with a focus on David Lyman (1820 – 1871), who used a fortune earned from manufacturing washing machines and wringers in Middlefield to build the grand Homestead at 3 Lyman Road.

The tours will take place at 11am & 12:30pm, and last about 45 minutes. The tour will be guided by historian, Diana Ross McCain, author of six books on Connecticut history, including Thy Children’s Children, a historical novel based on the true story of the first five generations of the Middlefield Lymans. Tickets for the tour are $12 per person, includes one apple cider donut.

Please respect the lot and side streets when leaving. Absolutely no burnouts or reckless driving when entering or leaving Lyman Orchards. This will be strictly enforced.
