Gioia of New Haven: A Christmas Experience
The Christmas-themed rooftop at Gioia Cafe & Bar in New Haven is a holiday experience you don’t want to miss. From November 9th through December 29th, the restaurant will be transformed into “JOY-AN,” a festive wonderland filled with seasonal flavors, cocktails, and holiday cheer! The enclosed rooftop, warmly lit and decorated with festive holiday decor, makes it feel like you’re stepping into a winter wonderland. Sip on holiday-themed cocktails crafted with seasonal flavors and flair while enjoying Gioia’s signature dishes that everyone already loves.
The “White Christmas Mojito,” “Santa’s Old Fashioned,” “Peppermintini,” and “The Charitiy-Ki” were some of the favorites on the holiday drink menu. And, you can savor “The Charity-Ki” knowing that Woodbridge Animal Control receives $5 for each drink sold. The bartenders at Gioia are first-rate creators of some of the best holiday cocktails I’ve ever had. But let’s not forget the fantastic bites that are also made at Gioia. I had the opportunity to try and savor their Beet Carpaccio salad, the Suppli fried risotto, the Baked Mac, the Mushroom flatbread, and an amazing Calamari Po Boy. Both their drink and food menus are expansive, far more than what’s mentioned here, and all seem equally tasty and good.
The atmosphere of Gioia’s rooftop space is cozy and inviting. Classic holiday tunes fill the room, adding to the holiday magic. The staff is incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring your holiday experience is as enjoyable as possible. If you want to start your Christmas celebration early this year, head to Gioia for a memorable rooftop experience! If the beautiful lights, holiday décor, and cheer don’t warm your heart and soul, the fantastic holiday drinks and food will definitely warm and nourish your body! Throughout December Gioia will be partnering with the New Haven Children’s Hospital Toy Closet Program, bringing holiday magic and smiles to kids in need.
Gioia can be found at 150 Wooster Street in New Haven and offers complimentary parking in its private lot. The enclosed rooftop bar does not accept reservations. Seating is a first come, first serve.
