The Winter Lantern Festival
The Winter Lantern Festival will illuminate Connecticut this holiday season, creating a must-see display of electrifying lights made from more than 1,000 handmade Chinese lanterns. Beginning November 15, 2024 and running Fridays through Sundays through February 9, 2025, guests of all ages will be welcomed to the whimsical walk-through at Lyman Orchards in Middlefield, CT for an unforgettable experience this winter for many families of all ages.
Guests will enter and wander through a wonderland of light and color inspired by Chinese myths, legends, and zodiacs. Each artisan-made lantern is made of hand painted silk cloth draped over a frame filled with LED lights and will mesmerize attendees as they traverse through the photo-worthy luminescent night walk. Attractions will include interactive light swings, dino rides, see-saws, tunnels, and many majestic creatures. In addition to the spectacular lights display, guests can also enjoy live entertainment, food, drinks and gifts.

Friday to Sunday, November 15, 2024 – February 9, 2025. Extended days over the holidays.
5:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., with last entrance at 8:30 p.m.
The festival has been widely successful across various eastern U.S. cities in the past, including three consecutive years of sell-out runs in New York City, Washington D.C., and Atlanta where it welcomed more than 150,000 guests annually.
Lyman Orchards is no stranger to seasonal celebrations. The multi-generational property is Connecticut’s premier orchard with family-friendly events, pick-your-own fruit, farm market, award-winning pies, sunflower and corn mazes, and year-round golf courses.
