Open Thursdays and Sundays 1pm – 4pm (closed on 09/29, 10/13, 10/31, 11/03 and Thanksgiving) beginning Thursday, September 19, 2024 through Sunday, November 24, 2024.  Take a guided tour of the award-winning Coley House and learn about life during the pivotal 1940s. No other historic house in Connecticut reflects the 1940s era! On view in the visitor’s center is “Weston…What Lies Beneath” featuring artifacts found on the property of one of Weston’s oldest homes, the Peter Thorp House, which has become an Instagram sensation; follow @peterthorphouse.

Young ones can explore history too! In “Weston…What Lies Beneath” children become archaeologists as they dig and record their findings in the exhibit’s “Can You Dig It” Kids Corner! In the Coley House, curious minds can try their hand at dialing a rotary phone, typing on a typewriter, playing with vintage toys and games, and building a house with Lincoln Logs. Fun for the entire family at the Weston History & Culture Center!

Don’t forget to take in the beautiful autumnal scenery at the Weston History & Culture Center. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on your visit. Stroll through the Daniel E. Offutt, III Sculpture Garden and explore the whimsical sculptures created by former Weston resident, philanthropist and artist, Daniel E. Offutt, III.  Learn more about the Coley Homestead by touring the grounds using our award-winning historic interpretive signs dotted around the property. Weston history comes alive at the Weston History & Culture Center.
