Comprehensive College Bound Seminar
Music Theatre of Connecticut (MTC) School of Performing Arts, Fairfield County’s award winning conservatory program, announces its upcoming Comprehensive College Bound Seminar, designed to guide high school sophomores, juniors, and their parents through the intricate process of pursuing performing arts degrees in college. The seminar will delve into critical aspects of the college selection and application process
specific to the performing arts and give invaluable insights and expert guidance.
The seminar, scheduled for May 18th, 2024, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at MTC, will cover a range of essential topics including in-depth information on over 50 colleges and their performing arts programs, timelines for applications and auditions, understanding the unique philosophies of college theatre departments, transitioning to a career as a performing artist after graduation, identifying key elements of performing arts degree
programs often overlooked by high school counselors, and practical advice on navigating applications and auditions successfully.
MTC’s nationally recognized College Bound Program boasts a remarkable 100% placement rate, with alumni admitted to prestigious institutions such as NYU, Northwestern, and University of Michigan. Notable alumni include Mia Gentile, BFA Music Theatre, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati, known for her roles in Broadway’s “Kinky Boots”, and Justin Paul, University of Michigan BFA Musical Theatre graduate, Academy Award winner, Tony Award winner, and Jonathan Larson Award winner.
By attending the Comprehensive College Bound Seminar, students and their families will gain a competitive edge and invaluable insights into the evolving landscape of performing arts education. Included in the seminar tuition of $95, participants will also benefit from a half-hour private consultation to be scheduled at a later date. Space is limited, and early registration is required.
