The Courettes to perform at Cafe Nine tonight
The Courettes, a rock duo consisting of lead guitarist and singer Flavia Couri and drummer Martin Couri, are coming to Cafe Nine in New Haven tonight! Known for their hard work and explosive performances, the Danish-Brazilian duo will bring their unique blend of garage rock, 60s Girl Groups, Wall of Sound, surf music, and doo-wop to the stage. Expect excitement, danger, sweat, and, most importantly, great tunes. The Courettes have been touring extensively throughout Europe since 2015, and their music is sure to delight any audience with an interest in rock ‘n’ roll.
Check out the exclusive US/Canada vinyl release, “Boom! Dynamite (An Introduction To The Fabulous Courettes)”. This limited edition orange vinyl features songs from the duo’s previous albums. The debut album from 2015, “Here Are The Courettes”, includes the raw and rocking tracks “I’ve Been Walking” and “Push It Too Hard” (a duet with Kim Kix of Powersolo). Plus, a 2021 re-recording of “The Boy I Love” with a ’60s girl group vibe. On their second album, “We Are The Courettes”, Flavia contributes her harmonies, piano, and organ skills on swinging tracks like “Time is Ticking” and “Strawberry Boy”. The album also features garage hits “Hoodoo Hop” and “Voodoo Doll” with legendary Brazilian Horror icon Coffin Joe on spells.
