2023 Sound on Sound Music Festival Artist: Hozier

Back in September 2013, Andrew Hozier-Byrne, a solo artist from Ireland, released his first single titled Take Me To Church. He recorded most of it in his parents’ attic in Wicklow. His father was a blues musician, and his mother was an artist. He had no idea that the song would garner such massive public interest, leading him to become an international superstar.
Even after a decade and numerous streams, Hozier continues to reside in Wicklow. Despite his music taking him to various parts of the world, it is Ireland’s people, places, weather, and landscape that make him feel at home. He is drawn to the country’s natural beauty, where streams still flow at the bottom of gardens.
Over the past ten years, Hozier has received widespread recognition and praise for his music. He has sold millions of albums, earned a Diamond single certification from the RIAA, topped charts in both the US and UK, been nominated for a GRAMMY award, composed soundtracks for films and video games, and performed sold-out shows all around the globe. Despite all of this success, Hozier’s love for his craft and his fascination with the world we live in, with all its ups and downs, have not waned. His third album, ‘Unreal Unearth’ was released on August 18, 2023.
