Sea Unicorns introduce beer to be named later
Epicure Brewing and Willimantic Brewing Team Up To Brew Beer for Sea Unicorns
The Norwich Sea Unicorns today have announced that Epicure Brewing
Company of Norwich and Willimantic Brewing Company of Willimantic have teamed up to
brew a beer that will be served at Sea Unicorns games this summer. The Sea Unicorns Beer To
Be Named Later is aptly named after the most traded player in the history of baseball, The
Player To Be Named Later. Throughout the season, fans at Dodd Stadium, as well as guests at
both Epicure and Willi Brew, will have the opportunity to submit names for the beer. The
deadline to submit entries will be Sunday, July 30th with the winner to be announced at the
August 3rd Thirsty Thursday Sea Unicorns game at Dodd Stadium. There is no purchase
required to submit an entry. The winner will receive a prize pack courtesy of the Sea Unicorns,
Epicure Brewing and Willimantic Brewing.
The beer style will be a Golden Ale that will also be served at Epicure and Willi Brew during
the summer. The first opportunity to taste the Sea Unicorns Beer To Be Named Later will occur
at the Thread City Hop Fest held at Jilson Square in Willimantic on Sunday, May 21st, just over
a week before the Sea Unicorns home opener on Monday, May 29th. The Sea Unicorns, Epicure
and Willi Brew will also be hosting cross-promotional events during the summer. More details
for those events will be released in the coming weeks.
“When looking for a partner to brew a beer for the Sea Unicorns, I knew I had to find someone
I could trust to create the best possible product for our fans and the beer drinkers in the region,”
said Sea Unicorns General Manager Lee Walter, Jr. “To do that, I reached back to my days
working in the beverage industry to find friends that I know are great beer minds and this led
me to David Wollner of Willi Brew and John Brisson of Epicure. I am looking forward to
tasting the beer when it is ready and being able to share it with everyone!”

The Sea Unicorns Beer To Be Named Later will be the featured beer during Thirsty Thursday
games in 2023. The Sea Unicorns have also created a Thirsty Thursday Mini Plan Mug Club for
the 2023 season. For $75, this mini plan comes with a ticket to all six Thursday home games,
free parking, a Sea Unicorns, Epicure and WilliBrew branded beer mug (will not be made of
glass) and the opportunity to join us for a special beer and food pairing during the first
Thursday home game on June 1st as well as an end of season Happy Hour special at the final
Thursday home game on August 3rd

The Norwich Sea Unicorns are located at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, Connecticut. The front
office and box office are open daily from 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday and can be
accessed in person or by calling 860-887-7962. Sea Unicorns merchandise is available anytime

Epicure Brewing Company is located at 40 Franklin St in Norwich, Connecticut. Hours of
operation are Wednesday-Thursday from 5-9pm, Friday from 3-9pm, Saturday from 12-9pm
and Sunday from 1-6pm.
Willimantic Brewing Company is located at 967 Main St in Willimantic, Connecticut. Hours of
operation are Tuesday-Thursday from 11:30am-9pm, Friday-Saturday from 11:30am-10pm and
Sunday from 11am-8pm.
The Thread City Hop Fest will be on Sunday, May 21st from 1-5pm at Jilson Square, located at
533 Main St in Willimantic, Connecticut. Tickets will be on sale beginning on March, 10th
