Overseas Rundown Vol. 25
Uncasville, CT (April 25, 2022) – Yvonne Anderson and Umana Reyer opened up this week’s overseas play with a win against Virtus Bologna in Game 1 of the Italian League Semifinals, 69-51. Anderson led her team with 16 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals in the victory. Later in the week, Anderson and Umana Reyer faced off against Virtus Bologna in Game 2 of the Italian League Semifinal Series, dropping the contest 65-36. Anderson had 10 points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal. To close out the week, Umana Reyer fell in Game 3 of the Semifinal series against Virtus Bologna, 67-58. Anderson had 10 points, seven rebounds, two assists and one steal in the effort. Umana Reyer lost the Semifinal series 2-1 and is now out of the running for the Italian League championship.
Brionna Jones, Alyssa Thomas and USK Praha defeated Zabiny Brno in Game 3 of Czech League Finals, 74-51. Jones led the way with a double-double, tallying 24 points, 11 rebounds, one assist and two steals. Thomas had a double-double of her own with 10 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and one steal. With the victory, USK Praha are Champions of the Czech League, finishing with an undefeated record of 27-0 in Czech League play.
Dewanna Bonner and CBK Mersin took on Bursa in Game 1 of the Turkish League Quarterfinals. CBK Mersin won the matchup handily, 79-42. Bonner tallied seven points, six rebounds, seven assists and one steal in the playoff victory. Bonner and CBK Mersin return to action this week with Game 2 of the Turkish League Quarterfinal series against Bursa at 7:00 A.M. EST on April 26.
