99.1 PLR CrossPoint Federal Credit Union ShamRock & Roll 5K Returns
1,500 plus CT top runners expected to support The Diaper Bank on March 2
The annual 99.1 PLR CrossPoint Federal Credit Union Shamrock & Roll 5K is back for a 5K on March 2, 2025! The event aims to collect over 50,000 diapers for The Diaper Bank through donations from race participants and sponsors. This year’s event is limited to 1,500 participants and race organizers anticipate another sellout success. The race begins at 9 a.m., starting at Toad’s Place on York Street in New Haven.
The 99.1 PLR CrossPoint Federal Credit Union Shamrock & Roll 5K will once again host the USATF-CT 5K State Championships and is the second-longest-running CT championship race behind the nationally recognized New Haven Road Race.
Participants are encouraged to run or walk the 5K in festive St. Patrick’s Day costumes! Custom beer can glasses for the best group and individual costumes will be given out. Beer can glasses are also awarded to the fastest male and female finishers. Runners, walkers, and spectators can enjoy rock music played at Toad’s Place and along the 5K course. One Heineken Silver beer is offered to paying race participants 21+! The first 1,500 participants will receive short-sleeve tech tees. After the race, participants can enjoy a rockin’ post-race party at Toad’s Place, featuring live entertainment, great food, and refreshments. Early packet pick-up is available at Woodbridge Running Company on Friday, February 28 from 11a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday, March 1 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The race benefits The Diaper Bank. Once again, Lynch, Traub, Keefe & Errante (LTKE) has committed to matching the first 50,000 diapers donated to the race. In total, the event aims to donate over 100,000 diapers to The Diaper Bank.
“The Diaper Bank plays a vital role in supporting our local community,” said Steve Errante of LTKE. “It’s a privilege to contribute to such an important cause and join our New Haven neighbors for a great event.”
