90’s rock band Collective Soul to perform in Hartford on Thursday
For those of us who lived through the 1990’s know how amazing music was. Before Hanson, Spice Girls, N’SYNC, and Backstreet Boys took over the airwaves in the mid to late 90’s. There was a period of music that gave us Blues Traveler, Foo Fighters, Alanis Morrisette, and a band called Collective Soul.
Their self titled album has countless hits including “December“, “The World I May Know“, and “Where The River Flows“. The album became the band’s highest-selling album to date, going Triple-Platinum, and spent 76 weeks on the Billboard 200 charts.
They recently released their 13th studio album, Here to Eternity. A double album with 20 songs includes “Mother’s Love” and ” Bluer Then So Blue”. “We had an opportunity to record at Elvis Presley estate in Palm Springs for a limited amount of time, six weeks to two months. We went in and started making music. About a week and half into it we had 7, 8, 9 songs and kept on going and it organically floated into being a double album” Guitarist, Dean Rolland said in a recent interview.
Collective Soul is touring with Hootie and the Blowfish and Edwin McCain and will be performing at the Xfinity Theatre in Hartford on Thursday, August 1st. Click here to purchase tickets.
